Choosing Serve v. Return

When you spin your racquet at the start of a match, I'm surprised to find out that so many players are not aware of all of their options if they win the spin. For example -- most people realize that you can choose to serve, return or choose sides. There is a 4th option that many players are unaware of. The fourth option is to choose to let your opponent pick first.

You might ask "Why?"

Lets say for example that you want your opponent to serve for the first time with the sun in their eyes. If they choose to serve, you can take the side that will have them facing the sun. If they pick choosing sides, then you can choose to return from the side that doesn't have the sun. By giving your opponents the first choice, you can control quite a few variables in the match and possibly affect the outcome of the match.
So in this case, second best is really the best choice!
See you on the courts!
